FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles, CA - In a joint donation with the UTA Foundation, Upside Health Inc. donates 480,000 face masks to U.S.VETS in support of homeless veterans and their families across the country. The donation marks 740,000 masks donated by Upside Health Inc. during COVID-19, reaching their goals to donate half a million masks by the end of 2020.

U.S.VETS is a leading nonprofit organization helping veterans and their families transition from homelessness. With 38,000 veterans currently homeless in the United States, U.S.VETS is committed to serving those who have served. Homeless communities are considered at-risk for contracting the virus due to PPE being less accessible and the proximity of accommodations and face-to-face contact.

“Access to masks and PPE is essential to protecting U.S.VETS staff and the veterans we proudly serve,” says U.S.VETS CEO and United States Marine Corps Veteran Stephen Peck. “Thanks to Upside Health, we were able to provide masks to all of the team members nationwide who care for our veterans, and the 5,500+ veterans and families we serve daily at our residential locations and in the community.”

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Upside Health Inc. has been at the forefront in providing ASTM level face masks to government agencies, schools, and healthcare facilities. The homeless community has been impacted by the pandemic without direct access to protect themselves from the ongoing healthcare crisis. Upside Health Inc.’s donation will supply U.S.VETS locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
